SEASONAL WATER RESTRICTION REMINDER
July 21, 2022
Both the Navarro Mills Reservoir water level and the daily water use as a percentage of Corsicana’s water treatment plant capacity are getting close to the point where additional water use restrictions will be implemented according to City Ordinance Sec. 13.05.001. We hope to get significant rainfall soon so we can avoid addition restrictions, but the outlook doesn’t look good for the next week or so.
In the meantime, all city water customers must adhere to the seasonal water restrictions contained in Article 13.05.005 of the Utility Ordinance that prohibits lawn sprinklers between 10 AM and 6 PM from April 1 through October 31 of each year. This year with the current drought conditions, it is extremely important to conserve our water. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter as we all hope and pray that the drought will end soon.
Sec. 13.05.005 Seasonal watering restrictions
The governing body of the city is fully committed to conserving our treated water usage, regardless of whether or not the drought restrictions outlined above are in effect. To optimize the effective use of treated water within our city, the following restrictions are placed on outdoor watering during the period April 1 through October 31 of each year. Lawn sprinklers may not be used between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. This restriction does not apply to hand watering, the use of soaker hoses, or the washing of cars. (Ordinance 310, sec. 17(E) adopted 5/3/10)
