Last Day to Register to Vote in May General Election is April 3, 2025

Qualifications for Office

Candidate must be a United States citizen.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election.
Candidate must not have been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be: (A) totally mentally incapacitated; or (B) partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
Candidate must not have been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities.
Candidate must have resided continuously in the State of Texas for 12 months preceding the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot.
Candidate must be a registered voter in the territory from which the office is elected as of the date of the filing deadline for a candidate’s place on the ballot.

Mayor

Residence – Candidate must have resided within the city limits of Blooming Grove for at least the 12 months preceding the Election Day.

Alderman / Council

Residence – Candidate must reside on Election Day in the city limits of Blooming Grove.
